We received some images from the Animago festival in Potsdam (Berlin), and they were kind enough to let us post them here. It was an unforgettable trip and well worth the long drive! A big thanks to the festival, and also to CAD Network for sponsoring the award with three awesome rendercubes!

Here are some samples from the character design process. I always start with simple shapes, the primary ones, and then move on to secondary shapes. I also try to find a nice visual contrast between the characters, while still keeping in mind that they should share the same overall design style. For this project I found great inspiration from the Cartoon Modern era, and it was a fun challenge to translate that shape language over to the third dimension.

Today we would like to turn the spotlight on the amazing storyboard artist Mads Juul. He worked on everything from the first draft of the script of “Rob ‘n’ Ron” to the final version of the animatic. Be sure to check out his blog here:

Eva Lee Wallberg animated the majority of the piggy bank shots, and she was also responsible for creating the backgrounds together with Christian Bøving-Andersen (See previous post). She’s at the moment hard at work over at Cartoon Network in London. Check out her portfolio here:

Rob ‘n’ Ron has been out for a couple of days now, and we are blown away by all the positive feedback we have recieved. Thank you! This film would not have been made without the help from some really talented friends. First up is the genious director/designer/animator Christian Bøving-Andersen! Be sure to check out his awesome blog and newly updated showreel here:
